Land Grading Greenville, SC

We have a unique commitment and work ethic to the final goals that we ultimately hand over to you. Land clearing is not a new frontier, but it’s still something that has to be done with a close eye to detail and a high standard of performance.

Unlike the average in almost every field, we have a high rate of success.

We might be performing, in a broad sense, the same service at one site as the next, but every site is incredibly unique and presents its own challenges. We have to approach each site with that sort of open mind and open eyes to the obstacles that are there. We can’t treat your job like a one-size-fits-all thing. Every job is different.

Common Land Grading Projects

Grading is a broad field.

Any kind of construction on a site, whether it’s a home site that already exists, or there’s already a house there, but somebody wants to build a shop, it all needs grading.

Building pad construction is something that falls under grading. Pond construction, new road construction, etc.. Any job where soil is being moved and essentially the ground is being managed for effect, whether that’s to create different kinds of drainage or stormwater management, or to achieve a new elevation for construction, is grading, and we’re able to handle it with professionalism.

Start To Finish Land Grading

Most construction projects in this area require permitting, but typically that is done by either you, the homeowner, or the builder. The contractor doing the construction might also be the one to handle it. That being said, we don’t typically handle the permitting phase.

The timeline would be something like this: selecting a site, prepping it via clearing, and then consulting with you and/or the contractor who’s doing the construction for the required site elevations, drainage, and contouring. And after we accomplish that, construction can begin.

Timeline

It mostly depends on the size of the project we’re doing. Larger land-clearing projects or multi-acre jobs could take a month. Projects of that scale are a tremendous amount of work.

However, on average, our lot clearing pre-construction phase typically lasts about a week.

The equipment we use most often for these projects is a bulldozer and a skid steer.

Unique Challenges of Greenville

Our area has fairly challenging topography. We have a lot of hills, a lot of steep terrain, and a lot of rock.
Something that you have to consider before doing a build in our area is that your site may have a fair amount of subterranean rock. Especially if you’re doing things such as basements, you may hit a layer of rock pretty quickly. That could substantially alter project costs.
